What parents & students say
Real athletes. Real breakthroughs.
★★★★★
"My son had the talent and the work ethic but kept tightening up in big games. Chris gave him the mindset and structure to actually perform at the level we always knew he was capable of."
Manuel — Parent of Luis, 11th Grade Athlete
★★★★★
"We thought he just needed to train harder. Turns out what he needed was the right mental system. The difference in six weeks was unreal — calmer in pressure, more disciplined, more confident on the field."
Chris Zanyk, Parent of Jake, Athlete
★★★★★
"I always felt like I had more in me but couldn't figure out how to actually execute when it mattered. Chris gave me the mental game and the accountability to finally play with the freedom and confidence I always knew I was capable of."

The real problem

Talent without
the mental game
gets wasted.

Your athlete isn't underperforming because they don't care or don't train hard. They're underperforming because nobody has ever taught them the mental side of the game — the 80% that decides who actually shows up when it matters.

Why parents of high-level athletes come to us
Sound like your athlete?
🎯

Crushes practice, shrinks in games

You've seen what they can do in training. But when the lights come on and pressure hits — something different shows up.

😨

Playing scared of mistakes

Hesitating, second-guessing, gripping too tight. They want to play free — but the fear of messing up keeps getting in the way.

Training overruns school — or vice versa

Practice, lifts, film, games. Then schoolwork. Then exhaustion. Something is always slipping — and they have no real plan to balance it.

📉

One bad rep ruins the next ten

A miss, a bad call, a turnover — and they spiral. They don't have a tool to reset in the moment, so the whole game tilts.

🧠

In their own head

Self-doubt, comparison, perfectionism. The talent is there — but the mental noise keeps them from playing the way they actually can.

🔥

No life outside the sport

All grind, no fun. Burnout is creeping in and they've forgotten what it's like to actually be a young person who loves their sport.

We don't motivate athletes. We build mental performers.

This isn't for everyone. If your athlete is hungry and ready — let's talk.

What We Teach
The 80/20 Athlete Blueprint

80% of athletic performance is mental. The skills that separate the great ones from everyone else — and the inner game that no skills coach, strength coach, or club program will ever teach your athlete.

Click any pillar to expand

01
Mindset Mastery
Play with the utmost confidence — and learn to embrace pressure instead of fearing it
  • Building real, earned confidence — the kind that doesn't disappear after one bad rep or bad game
  • Reframing pressure as the privilege of being trusted in big moments — not a threat to survive
  • Pre-game and in-game routines used by elite athletes to anchor focus when the stakes get real
  • Identity work: who you are when you step onto the field, court, or mat — and how to show up as that athlete every time
  • Self-talk under fire: rewriting the inner voice that tightens you up so it starts pulling you forward
02
Eliminate Fear of Mistakes
Free your athlete to play in flow — fast, decisive, and fully expressed
  • Understanding why fear of mistakes is the #1 silent killer of high-level performance — and how to dismantle it
  • The reset routine: how to wash a bad rep, miss, or turnover in 5 seconds and get back to the next play
  • Separating identity from outcome — you are not your last mistake, and you are not your last win
  • Training the brain to play in flow: full execution, no second-guessing, no hesitation
  • Reframing mistakes as data — the fastest path to mastery, not evidence that you don't belong
03
Routine & Time Mastery
Commit to training, commit to school, and still have a real life — without dropping any of them
  • Designing morning and evening routines that prepare the body and mind for elite training and recovery
  • Building a weekly schedule that protects training, school, sleep, and time to actually be a young person
  • Time blocking: making sure school work doesn't get sacrificed to training — or vice versa
  • Identifying and eliminating the distractions and time-leaks that are quietly costing hours every week
  • Weekly reviews: the reset that keeps your athlete on track no matter what the season throws at them
04
Self-Belief & Confidence
Confidence isn't faked — it's the byproduct of promises kept to yourself
  • Real confidence is built rep by rep — in training, in routines, and in the small commitments nobody sees
  • Rewriting the stories your athlete tells themselves about being "not good enough" or "not a big-game player"
  • Using daily routines and training quality as physical proof of who they are becoming
  • How an athlete carries themselves — in the locker room, the bench, the warm-up — communicates their level before the first whistle
  • Building the kind of belief that survives slumps, injuries, and bad coaching feedback
05
Emotional Resilience
The best athletes don't avoid hard emotions — they master them in real time
  • Responding with poise after a bad call, missed shot, or coach correction — instead of reacting from emotion
  • Reframing losses, benchings, and slumps as accelerators instead of identity threats
  • Stress and nervous-system tools used by elite athletes to regulate before, during, and after competition
  • Building the mental toughness to keep training when motivation, soreness, or doubt show up
  • Eliminating self-sabotage with the kind of self-awareness most athletes never develop
06
The Company You Keep
Show me your circle and I'll show you your ceiling — in the locker room and out of it
  • Auditing the circle: teammates and friends who raise the standard vs. ones who quietly pull it down
  • Building relationships with athletes and people who hold them to a higher level
  • Understanding that environment is the single biggest lever on training quality, recovery, and mindset
  • Creating physical and digital environments — bedroom, bag, phone — optimized for performance instead of distraction
  • How elite athletes curate their inner circle — and how to start doing it in high school
07
Leadership On & Off the Field
The final unlock: leading yourself fully so your team and your life follow
  • Leadership starts with self-mastery — you cannot lead a team past where you've led yourself
  • How to communicate, hold standards, and bring teammates with you instead of pushing them away
  • Becoming the athlete coaches trust in big moments — in practice, in games, and in the locker room
  • Service over status: the philosophy that separates great captains from loud ones
  • Generation Forward: owning your role as a young athlete shaping the culture around you

These are the 7 mental skills your athlete will build. Here's exactly how we teach them.

We'll walk through exactly which pillars your athlete needs most.

How It Works

How we build the mental game.

The 7 pillars above are what your athlete learns. This is the proven delivery model we use to actually teach, reinforce, and build them — week by week, session by session, season by season.

1

Weekly 1-on-1 Coaching

A private, weekly session with your coach — custom tailored to where your athlete is right now, what they're working through in season or off-season, and what needs to move next. No templates. No generic advice. Just a plan built specifically for them.

2

Action Items & Homework

Learning without application is just information. Every session ends with clear action items — mental reps to practice in training, in games, and in school. This is what turns coaching insights into the kind of mental game that actually shows up under pressure.

3

Daily Accountability

Regular — and when needed, daily — check-ins to make sure what's been learned is actually being applied. Consistency doesn't happen by accident. We create the structure that makes it inevitable.

4

Parent Progress Reports

Regular updates so you can see the growth happening — and share your perspective on what you're noticing at home. We take confidentiality seriously. What your student wants kept private, stays private. The coaching relationship only works when it's a safe space — for both of you.

Optional Add-On
5

Group Workshops

Access to group workshops — in person or virtual — where athletes connect with others in the program. Socratic-style learning, peer accountability, and the powerful realization that other driven young athletes are doing the same mental work.

The Team Behind The Work

Built for this generation

The 80/20 Athlete isn't a solo operation. It's a team of coaches and mentors who've lived in the world of high-level sport — and show up every week to build the mental game in this generation of athletes.

Your Head Coach

My early twenties were the hardest years of my life. Addiction. Anxiety. No direction. I spent years trying to figure out on my own what the right mentor would have shown me in 90 days — the same mental game elite athletes need to actually perform under the lights.

Once I learned to master my mindset, my routines, and my fear of failure — everything changed. I became a Top 10 Coach in the World with Tony Robbins, spoke at TEDxMiami, and now coach high performers and athletes around the world. I wish someone had taught me these mental skills at 16 instead of 28. That's exactly why I built The 80/20 Athlete.

"I'm not a skills coach. I'm the guy who takes a talented athlete and helps them master the 80% of performance that's mental — the inner game no club, school, or strength program is going to teach them."

Common questions
Before you book
What is The 80/20 Athlete program?
+
The 80/20 Athlete is Generation Forward's mental performance coaching program for 6th–12th grade student athletes. We train the 80% of performance that's mental — confidence under pressure, freedom from fear of mistakes, time mastery, and the inner game that decides who actually shows up on game day.
How is this different from a sports skills or strength coach?
+
Skills coaches train the body and the technique. The 80/20 Athlete trains the mental side — confidence, pressure, fear of mistakes, focus, identity, and time mastery. The 80% of performance no club, school, or strength program is going to teach.
What areas do you serve?
+
We're based in South Florida and serve families across Broward, Dade, and Palm Beach County in person — including Coral Gables, Weston, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, and Pinecrest. Through virtual coaching, we work with athletes from around the world.
Can coaching be done virtually?
+
Yes. Coaching can be done in person across South Florida or virtually — athletes from anywhere in the world get the same program, same coach, and same accountability. Many of our families do sessions fully online so it can flex around training and travel.
What changes — and when?
+
By 30 days: Clarity starts to form. Your athlete has a mental reset routine, a weekly time system, and the first real pre-game and post-rep tools taking hold. Most parents notice a shift in attitude and composure within the first 4 weeks.

By 60 days: Consistency kicks in. Less hesitation in games, faster recovery from bad reps, and the mental tools start becoming automatic. Performance typically begins to reflect the inner shift.

By 90 days: A different athlete. Confident in pressure, free of the fear of mistakes, and able to hold training, school, and a real life at the same time. This is where the transformation becomes undeniable.
Is this for athletes who are already performing well?
+
Yes — that's exactly who we work with. The 80/20 Athlete is for driven 6th–12th grade athletes who want to perform at the next level. The athletes who already have the talent but need the mental game to make it consistent.
What if my athlete doesn't think they need coaching?
+
That's a great starting point. The free parent strategy call helps us understand both your perspective and theirs. We talk through how to introduce the idea in a way that creates genuine buy-in rather than resistance.
How long is the program?
+
Most athletes stay with us for 1 year — long enough to work through a full season cycle. The goal is never dependency — it's to build the mental skills the athlete can carry independently long after coaching ends.
What results can we realistically expect?
+
Athletes typically see sharper focus in big moments, more confidence under pressure, less fear of mistakes, faster reset after bad reps, and better balance between training, school, and a real life. Most parents notice a visible shift within 4–6 weeks.
How much does the program cost?
+
Investment is discussed on the free strategy call and customized based on the athlete's needs and goals. The call is completely free with no obligation.
